From beechwood to your step

Watch how a block of wood becomes a Baldo clog, one careful step at a time.

How a pair is made

Every pair passes through the same patient hands, from the first cut of wood to the final check.

  1. Choosing the beechwood

Each pair starts with solid beechwood, chosen for its strength and fine natural grain.

  2. Cutting and shaping the sole

The wood is cut and shaped into a sole that follows the natural curve of the foot.

  3. Fitting the spring

A spring is set into the heel, giving every step its soft, cushioned bounce.

  4. Adding the leather

The leather upper and strap are cut, stitched and fixed to the sole.

  5. Finishing every pair

Each pair is sanded, finished and checked before it leaves the workshop.

A little spring. A lot of character.

Baldo heel spring mounted on a beechwood blockEvery Baldo clog starts with solid beechwood and real leather. Then comes the detail that makes it ours: a spring set into the heel, giving each step a soft, cushioned bounce.

Wood and leather, nothing less

Folded pieces of cognac, tan and espresso leatherNatural beechwood keeps the sole light and sturdy. Leather uppers and straps bring the colour, texture and finish. Each model has its own mix, and you’ll find the exact details on every product page.
